Konstantinos V. Durrant


During the last 15 years of training and practice Konstantinos Durrant understood that traditional therapeutic approaches often unintentionally missed or oversimplified the complex dynamics of gay relationships. Further, he saw that the issue of sexual intimacy was often raised late in therapy, or sometimes not at all, despite the fact that sexual and intimate relationships are often the arena where difficulties are most likely to be played out.These observations while he worked in the field pet to founuing Soho Couples’ Therapy.

Konstantinos is an experienced adult psychotherapist, who is trained to work with both individuals and couples and has practised for 15 years in various of clinical settings. He is registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP accred.) and a member of the Tavistock Society for Psychotherapists.

His significant experience in the NHS, social care management, forensic psychotherapy services, and LGBTQ+ charities such as the Terrence Higgins Trust, gave him clinical understanding, which is reflected in his practice. His qualifications include clinical training at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, postgraduate degrees in Psychoanalytic Studies and Psychotherapy, clinical training at Regent’s University, London, and additional training in working systemically with families and couples.

Konstantinos has taught in the UK and internationally and he currently teaches Psychotherapy at the School of Psychotherapy and Psychology, Regents University, London, where he is also a training supervisor.

His doctoral research at the Centre of Psychoanalytic Studies, Essex University, focuses on understanding and working psychotherapeutically with sexual desires.
